Leaders Credit Union Expands Mortgage Team In Memphis

Ken Olds and Kelly Jaunet Jones Join Leaders   

 

Memphis, Tenn. (May 24, 2023) — Leaders Credit Union, a member-owned financial cooperative in West Tenn., is pleased to announce they have expanded their mortgage team in Memphis, Tennessee by welcoming Ken Olds and Kelly Jaunet Jones as new Mortgage Loan Officers in the market.

Olds and Jones join Ronnie Smith, Cindy Norman, and a full retail team in the Memphis market. The Memphis branch is a full-service financial institution providing an array of banking products. The new team members will also be working with the rest of the Leaders Mortgage department, which includes 28 mortgage champions total including 10 additional Mortgage Loan Officers and 16 additional processors, underwriters, operational staff and leadership. 

 

Olds has been in the industry for 12 years and believes in empowering individuals through financial education and helping them realize their dream of homeownership and creating wealth. He is also a member and officer of various community organizations, such as the President of Rotary Club for the Memphis South club, Vice President of Programs for 100 Black Men of America, and member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. Olds was also recognized for Memphis Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 class of 2021 and a recent graduate of Leadership Memphis Executive Class of 2023. In addition to his work with Leaders Credit Union, Olds and his wife opened Muggin Coffeehouse in 2020, the first black-owned coffee shop in Whitehaven. In his spare time, he enjoys helping with his son’s soccer team, training for triathlons, traveling with his wife and two kids.  

Jones, originally from New Orleans, has been a Memphis resident since 1994. She has a background in hospitality and marketing, and one of her passions is education. Jones believes in making sure her clients understand the process of buying a home, and she works tirelessly to ensure that they feel confident in their decision. In her free time, Jones is actively involved in the Memphis Area Association of Realtors, having held various board positions since 2014. 

 

Norman, the Mortgage Business Development Coordinator for Leaders Credit Union, is a Memphis native who has worked in the Memphis area since 1993 and at Leaders since 2018. She is passionate about educating the community on home financing and developing lasting relationships with industry partners. Norman is active in various Chambers of Commerce, the Memphis Area Association of Realtors, and the West TN Home Builders Association. 

 

Smith, a native of Fayetteville, Arkansas, was raised in West Memphis and attended Union University. With nearly ten years of experience in mortgage lending, he is committed to serving and investing in the people of Memphis and Shelby County. He has worked for Leaders since January of 2022. In Smith’s free time, he has served on numerous boards, including Ballet Arts, Leadership Jackson, and Hands Up! Preschool. He was a foster parent for seven years and has adopted two children.
