MEMPHIS, Tenn. (May 17, 2024) – Leaders Credit Union, a member-owned financial cooperative based in Jackson, Tennessee, has a new addition to their Community Engagement team, Chris Thomas, who will be serving members in Memphis. The Community Engagement team has been serving the Memphis market for years, and Thomas will be the first CE Specialist to live and work in the city.
Originally from Alabama, Thomas brings years of financial experience to the Memphis market. He has worked as a teller, Regional Development Coordinator, and Community Development Specialist at America’s First Federal Credit Union and as a Relationship Banker at Regions Bank in Birmingham. Thomas is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership with a concentration in organizational management from Union University. Along with working on his degree, he serves as a Greater Memphis Chamber Ambassador and is a part of their Young Professionals Council.

This commitment is manifested through leading financial literacy workshops for students, community groups, and employers as part of their employee benefits package.”
The Community Engagement team at Leaders Credit Union strives to provide quality financial wellness benefits to communities across West Tennessee. By working with employer partners, the team provides financial wellness benefits to employees, such as a free workplace banking program, financial education workshops, and financial counseling. Thomas and the rest of the Community Engagement team are Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors. They are led by the Director of Community Impact, Shea Brown.
